Herb Drying Thyme with a French Bottle Rack!

Greetings Friends! It's that time of year when I start drying herbs and I discovered a new gadget to make the job a little easier...

Herb drying

Drying herbs usually involves hanging them from every cabinet in my kitchen! However, when Dear Firstborn visited and we shopped in Fredericksburg, I found this fun vintage inspired French bottle rack and have been using it ever since. It was a bargain--the best price I've seen and it is not only functional, but makes a lovely display...

It fits perfectly in the corner of the new herb drying counter in my recently transformed laundry room.

  1. I do not dry herbs, but I would if they would look as pretty as yours!

  2. Love the rack Cecilia ... you will find lots of use for that. I was hoping to see you drying lavender ... I want some. Maybe I will just have to settle for Rosemary as I have lots of that. I used a small (stick) ladder one year on our mantel and hung herbs from it ... yes ... you are giving me ideas for my Fall mantel.

  3. I should dry my oregano because I have a huge plant of it. I would need to borrow your French bottle rack though!!

  4. No, I don't because they usually die before I get to. They don't do well in the clay soil we have and I tend to overwater them in pots. Sigh. Maybe when we move to the farm I'll get them to grow. Love your drying "rack". Looks so cute all decked out in herbs.

  5. Well if that isn't the neatest rack! I am so glad it's making your life easier, sweet friend. I should get something like that for the roses I dry because like you I hang them from my kitchen cupboards.

Thanks for sharing with Roses of Inspiration. Hugs!

  6. Great use of the rack Cecilia! I have wheat themed teacups hanging on mine right now. I do dry herbs and I hang them in my back door entry on a rack I have hanging there. I'll have to try my mug rack some time. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann
