Greetings Friends! I cannot believe we are officially half way through September! I will be setting my table for Fall soon and plan to include a few DIY projects I have been wanting to try. You know I love me some chalkboard paint, so when I saw rustic chalkboard charger plates at a local shop that were as pricey as they were cute, I knew I would have to try my own version! I started collecting mismatched chargers from thrift stores, paying .25 to .75 a plate.
I decided to use spray chalkboard paint that I already had and was able to cover six chargers with a slightly less than full can. (I didn't spray the backs since they are already black.) Remember to prep them for future writing by rubbing chalk across the surface once they are completely dry. I love how diverse these will be--they will work with different plates, for any occasion and can even be personalized for your dinner guests! |

Now for project #2! I taped the stems of these .99 plastic pumpkins before spraying with Krylon brushed metallic Nickel satin spray, which left a pearly, metallic finish without looking too silver.

Once they dried, it was time to give my gourds some bling! For mine, I used plain silver tacks, burlap ribbon and twine, but you can go as glam as your heart desires--have fun with it!

I love how the pumpkins turned out. You have inspired me to give it a try. Fall mantel and table decor here I come...right after I finish unpacking.
