Autumn Inspired Little Red Wagon

Hello, Friends! Even though it is supposed to be in the nineties here the next few days, as of last weekend the calendar says it is officially Fall! With the arrival of slightly cooler mornings, I have visions of wearing sweaters with my favorite boots, snuggling up with a good book and savoring hot cocoa--hopefully in the not too distant future. So today in the garden, I was in the mood for a little Autumn inspiration. I found this Radio Flyer wagon years ago for $5 at one of my local thrift stores.  I prefer repurposed containers over more predictable displays. As the weather  changes, I fill it with seasonal plants, enjoying the contrast of the bright flowers against the

rustic wagon. I picked up these colorful zinnias and both purple and bronze mums, on sale at Home Depot yesterday.  I wrapped the larger containers loosely with burlap, then filled in the bare spots with smaller pots of flowers and gourds.  I used inverted terracotta pots to add height to the watering can on the left and sign on the right. A terracotta bird from a yard sale perches above it all--tweet, tweet!

  3. Sweet touch of Fall Cecilia! We have been in the lower 70's here lately. Usually in the upper 80's this time of year. Definitely very Fall feeling. I have started pulling out the décor and working on the porch. I won't buy or pick my pumpkins yet, but Mums are sure to show up. Love your rustic wagon! Thanks for sharing it with SYC.
    hugs,
