Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Today I'm sharing the fabulous finds from our recent trip to Round Top; both my treasures plus Carly's! There's lots to see, so let's go...
Greetings Friends! I truly love the small rural town I live in, but most vintage inspired or antique shows require the drive to Austin or at least Fredericksburg, so imagine my delight when I heard that Vintage Market Days was bringing a show right to my home town!
Greetings Friends--glad you are here on thrifty Friday! As a gardener, I am often drawn to birds and bunnies, as you may have guessed from The Bunny Chronicles. When I first saw this precious pair at an estate sale, they weren't priced and I feared might be for display only. Even so, I picked them up determined to find out and was thrilled when I was informed "Yes, they are for sale, how about $1.50?" Um...yes, please! Guess what I found out when I got them home?!
Greetings thrifty friends! Today I am featuring charming Vintage finds for the kitchen. I adore Vintage lines of all varieties and how cute is this anthropomorphic stitched tea towel?! It is right at home in my kitchen and is already hanging on my refrigerator door.
Welcome friends! So glad you could drop by on our Eleventh Day! I am constantly looking for ways to introduce the unexpected in my home including bringing the outdoors inside--like this dress form garden statuary. Let me introduce you to Juliet She is a beloved thrift store find who started as a Christmas decoration on my porch last year. Since then, she has been welcomed inside, served as a one of a kind lamp and is currently decked out in style for the holidays. Note that she is adorned with fresh greenery, Vintage jewelry, faux pearls and of course Peace. She is the perfect juxtaposition of elegance and whimsy that I pine for in my decor--pun intended, wink-wink!
Hello, Friends! As promised, here is my seasonal mantel arranged with thrift finds, DIY projects, clearance markdowns and of course, tiny pumpkins! The mirror, my newest fave find, actually falls into both of the first two categories. While I realize it has been mentioned twice previously, it is the perfect example of hunting for treasure, transforming it to make it your own and finding the perfect spot to let it shine.

I adore decorating and gardening but as a single parent have always needed to do both on a budget. Thrifting-- my all inclusive verb for shopping resale shops, thrift stores, estate and yard sales is not just my hobby but rather a lifestyle. It supports my habit of collecting Vintage dishes and Pyrex and over the years has proven invaluable for decorating and re-decorating. I am passionate about transforming and repurposing cast away furniture and love furnishing my home with pieces that have their own history. It has saved me more pennies than I can count and is the perfect solution to almost any dilemma. Your child comes home from school and informs you that he must dress like his favorite super hero TOMORROW? Your daughter can only wear modest knee length skirts to respect the local culture on her upcoming mission trip? Volunteer to host the next ladies event but then realize you don't own enough matching glasses? The answer to these questions and so many more: THRIFTING! Last, but certainly not least--thrifting is all about re-cycling, re-imagining and re-creating; the best way to shop green!
