Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today I'm excited to join my talented tablescaping friends hosted by dear Rita from Panoply for the Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop. I prefer seasonal decor that favors whimsy and glam over scary so please join me for a frightfully FAN-tastic wine and cheese

If you've hopped over after visiting Marsha from The Little Yellow Corner Store, welcome! You probably won't be surprised that my seasonal buffet was inspired by two thrift finds: these bird plates with a slightly sinister vibe...

...and a set of fabulous decorative fans I scored still in the package for a whopping fifty cents!

I kept it simple, adding large seedless grapes and Gouda cheese slices,

...plus a few varieties of my favorite crackers.

Baby's breath and Lamb's Ear arranged in a golden serving bowl rest on an elegant black fan to create a simple centerpiece. BOO!

Not-so-itsy-bitsy spiders add a touch of whimsy!

Black velvet ribbon...

...a crystal bejeweled serving stand and golden pumpkins infuse elegance.

Grab a plate and a glass of wine and sit for a spell!

I'm so glad you stopped by today!

Your wine and cheese buffet is suitably spooky for the holiday. Honestly, you must have some wonderful thrift stores in your area because you always find such great things. I love the plates that you used here because, while they are appropriate for Halloween, you could pretty much use them at any time of the year.
ReplyDeleteCecilia I love your wine and cheese buffet. I would be there in a heartbeat to not only enjoy the yummy looking grapes and cheese and sip the wine but I would certainly be enjoying your wall decor and adorable plates. I need to get out a bit more to my local thrift stores...do you go each day? Always a pleasure to blog hop with you. 🍁🥰🎃🐿️👻🌛🧹Kari @ Me and My Captain
ReplyDeleteDarling wine and cheese buffet Cecilia. Love the fans and the BOO and crow. The plates are a great find and fit in perfectly with your crow theme. Happy upcoming Halloween.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, I am always amazed at your thrifting! The wine and cheese buffet is a great idea for the season. The wall of fans and Boo gives a Halloween vibe. Love the bird plates! It is a pleasure to hop with you 🎃
ReplyDeleteCecelia, fun to open this post and see your fun theme. Your wine and cheese set up is charming. Lucy guests who get to join you and that big ole crow. I've had such fun with a crow theme and smile seeing that many of us have done so. Happy Halloween, my friend. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at wine and cheese! First of all....I love the Halloween-themed fan decor on the wall. The black ribbon adds just a touch of the popular coquette aesthetic that I LOVE! Your black and white color scheme with touches of gold is perfect for Halloween. I also like how your wine glasses are dipped in black. So cute! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteSo simple and easy Cecilia, love the fans you scored and your bird plates! It’s always a treat to hop with you, Happy October! 🎃🧡
ReplyDeleteCecilia, I love the statement your simplified table has given the Halloween holiday. What a great idea to use one of the fans as a centerpiece with flowers and a spider. It almost looks like a rippled cake stand. The fans are a great bargain and they truly set the stage. Plus you can use them for other occasions too. A great deal! Your bird plates work wonderfully too for both Halloween and other lovely occasions depending on how you embellish them. A really great choice. Have a wonderful Halloween, Cecilia. It is a pleasure to hop with you.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable, Cecilia! That's a perfect setup for having girlfriends over for snacks and fun. My girlfriends and I like to play Skip-Bo, and that's the kind of food fare we love. Love the fans! And your plates are a perfect accompaniment, signaling the season of spooky and fun. Thanks for participating with us on this hop!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, your Halloween wine and cheese bar is wonderful! The fans were indeed an amazing score and look great on the wall along with the crow and boo sign. The cheese, grapes, crackers, and wine all look delicious - who wouldn't want to join you. The plates were an awesome find too - you can almost certainly use them with other table settings. Love the not-so-itsy-bitsy spiders too - they are the perfect touch. It was great hopping with you and I hope you have a fabulous Halloween!
ReplyDeleteLove the fans (great score!) and the plates. Just spooky enough while at the same time definitely glam! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteSorry I am late to the party!! Your wine and cheese bar looks very festive!! Amazing what a fifty cent find cand do do set the mood for Halloween! Love the plates too!! I hope you have a wonderful Halloween! 🎃👻🐈⬛🧡
ReplyDeleteCircling back with a new comment as it appears my first one didn’t record! Your wine and cheese buffet is certainly charming! The plates were a great find. I can see how they do give a bit of a sinister vibe, but think they could be equally charming in another context! Love the gold pumpkins styled so the spiders can see their reflections!
