Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today I'm joining the Valentine Tablescape hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate and Decorate. Who doesn't love receiving chocolate and flowers for Valentine's Day? I know I do! With that in mind, I'm sharing a romantic peonies and truffles inspired table...
If you have hopped over after visiting the lovely Sandra at Sweet Sensations, welcome! I used a Christmas gift card to treat myself to these gorgeous eye-popping peony pillow covers that served as part of the inspiration for my tablescape.

I've mentioned before that we are huge chocolaholics in my family, and I just so happened to have the ingredients on hand to whip up my favorite fudge truffles. (Did you know making truffles is a great way to use fudge that doesn't set?!)
When I came across these rose-toned plates with gold accents with the Christmas clearance, I instantly thought of using them for my Valentine tablescape. Incidentally, these and the pillow covers were my only new purchases--I shopped my home for everything else. I layered them with whitewashed chargers and vintage milk glass. The pretty brass hearts are repurposed Christmas ornaments.
I created a centerpiece using fresh greenery and a few handmade crafts I have featured previously. Find this buttons and burlap heart, here!
Gold spray paint and toile hearts add a touch of romantic glam to vintage tart tins.
A bit of bubbly in thrifted blush flutes!
The dark chocolate truffles are dusted lightly in organic cocoa before topping with sprinkles.
Here's a birdseye peek at my breakfast room table decked out for Valentine's Day.
Next up, is Rita from Panoply--I can't wait to see her charming tablescape!
We interrupt this tablescape blog post to treat to you an accidental truffle recipe! Ohmygoodness, I went straight there and read that post, and pinned it - thank you, wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBack to the table....your inspiration from the peony pillows worked wonderfully with your garland, and those pink plates. I recognize them, and scored them with the black edge. ;) I love how you took the brass heart ornaments and placed them on the white plates. The rest of the accessories - the button heart, the sprayed tart tins, even the cupcake holders as coasters for the stemware - all so thoughtfully thrifted, such great ideas, Cecilia. The votive and candlestick bring romance to the table.
Wishing you all the love you can hold this Valentine's Day and always, Cecilia.
Cecilia, I started pinning right away before I finished reading, lol! So many creative ideas in this post. I love the muffin cups flattened for coasters. How creative and clever.Your champagne photographed so well. The darling hearts you repurposed from Christmas ornaments is very clever. I need to be on the lookout for heart ornaments.
ReplyDeleteFrom start to finish I enjoyed your post so much.
Rita went for the truffles, and I went for the chocolate cupcakes! Oh my goodness, but they look yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is a delight with the champagne, homemade truffles and all the pretty layered plates and using cupcake holders for coaster. That was really smart, pretty, and budget worthy.
Also like the peony pillow. They can be used all over the home.
It's always fun to come and visit your posts :)

My eyes kept darting from one thing to another. I loved the peony pillows when you first posted them! Then the peony blossoms on the table. Then the cupcake paper coaster! And finally vintage MG holding chocolate; it doesn't get any better than that. My saliva is working overtime and I'm gonna go get a fix of chocolate!!!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, what an opener --- those peony pillows are picture perfect! Love how you carried the theme with your blossom garland. My favorite part of your pretty table are the vintage plates (did I miss the pattern name?) mixed with all your other sweet table elements. But now all I can think about is craving chocolate truffles....
ReplyDeleteYou had me a peonies and truffles Cecilia! How pretty and delicious! I love your buttons and burlap heart too. So happy to join you at the table and hop with you again. Happy Valentine’s Day ♥

Chocolates and Champagne - I'm IN!! This is gorgeous Cecilia! Thanks for all the ideas, recipes, and decorating inspiration! So nice to hop with you!
ReplyDeleteCecilia, does it get any better than peonies, truffles, and bubbly all at one table? A pretty table with the burlap and buttons heart centerpiece. Thanks for the recipe and wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day!
ReplyDeleteCecilia,
ReplyDeleteYour table is beautiful! I have made homemade chocolate but never truffles. They look great.
Love the small hearts too.
Cindy
Cecilia, your tables are always so pretty and this one is no exception. Those truffles look so scrumptious, and I would love to have one with my afternoon tea. I hope you have a happy Valentine's day!
ReplyDeleteOh my, Cecilia, I must find some chocolate in my house since your beautiful and decadent chocolate truffles have created a chocolate crave. I can just imagine how smooth and rich and creamy they must taste. Oh....the pain of not tasting one. At least, I can also enough all of your table eye candy.....especially your adorable button heart centerpiece. It is so darling. The delicate vintage napkins and your choice of your gold trimmed plate embellished with the repurposed gold heart ornament is so dainty and feminine. Paired with the peonies and it speaks of love and passion among the beauty of a scented garden. So lovely. Have a wonderful day of romance on Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a celebration of delicious chocolate truffles! The pink plates and pink flutes are lovely additions too, when I can take my eyes off those chocolates! Thanks for joining us for another hop!
ReplyDeleteSO beautiful, as usual, Cecilia. All this pink and talk of truffles is a wonderful distraction from the snow outside my door. Brrr. I'm not the best at commenting lately, but I always read your pretty posts and love peeking at your thrift treasures from week to week. Wishing you all the best in this new year. xo
ReplyDeleteCecelia,
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty Valentine's tablesape!! Thanks so much for stopping by!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!

Since I've run out of room to store pillows, pillow covers work perfectly and I love this pattern. Your vintage tart tins also stood out. Mine aren't vintage but the same shape, thanks for the inspiration for these and for the truffles. Loving the stemware also with the dainty coaster.
ReplyDeleteCecelia, I could join your family of chocoholics!!!! Your truffles look heavenly!! What a pretty table with the chocolates, champagne and peonies. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day❤️
ReplyDeleteOh Cecilia! I just love all the gorgeous pink! And those amazing chocolate truffles look delicious. This post really made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI love your button and burlap heart. So cute! What a great idea to use muffin cups as coasters. I love getting ideas like this from all these hops. Happy Valentines day. Your table is lovely.
ReplyDeleteCecilia, peonies and truffles are such a perfect combination for Valentine's Day! I'm crushing on your new pillow covers and love how you incorporated them into the tablescape. I'm also loving the budget friendly accents, like the floral muffin tin coasters, Christmas clearance plates, dollar store peony garland and the repurposed heart ornaments at each place setting. I've never made truffles, but now I want to give them a try! It's always a pleasure hopping with you. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteOf course you know my favorites are the chocolate truffles but the whole tablescape is beautiful! Featuring when my link party opens up tonight.
