Bee Happy Marjolein Bastin Teapot Vignette: Friday's Find #251

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! This week I have just two finds to share--this pretty little teapot and some sweet embroidered napkins. The teapot is a Marjolein Bastin design. My mother and I have exchanged greeting cards featuring her artwork for years and I've always admired her talent. My recent finds pair together nicely and inspired a whimsical vignette, too...

There's just something about bees and tea time that seem to go together, probably because they both make me think of honey! Surprisingly, I don't have a honey pot but I prettied up my honey jar with some lace and lavender sprigs. I always stock up on this delicious lavender honey when I attend a nearby lavender festival each year.

I added a whimsical message to my chalkboard...

....and created a garland of tea bags!

I arranged an assortment of vintage jadeite and milk glass teacups on the bottle drying rack that I moved from the laundry room when I updated my herb drying corner.

Bees love honeysuckle! Mine is blooming and it smells so heavenly I brought some inside. A few years ago, I repurposed vintage jello molds to create the Queen Bee hive.

Isn't this embroidered teapot lovely? I pulled it from my thrifted collection of linens.

  1. Cecelia!! Love this post!! Beautiful jadite and beautiful colors!! I really like the tea bag garland. I just may have to borrow that idea and make one to hang from my shelf that holds my tea pots in my sitting room!! And the embroidered linen piece!! Did you see my table topper on my Garden Tea table??? It is quite similar but I put tea bags in my little "pockets"!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  2. Where do I start? First off I think i may have to add around my little bee bowl. Your sign is adorable as is the garland, the bed spring with the bee and that diy hive from jello molds...the cutest! Also lavender honey? That sounds delicious.

  3. So pretty! I love honeysuckle! As a kid, my best friend and I would pick honeysuckle blossoms and lick the honey all summer long. I too love the smell of honeysuckle! I need to put some in my yard.

  5. Gosh, this makes me happy! I love green (jadeite, of course!) and yellow. Your Marjorie Bastian teapot is adorable. I have a tiny door chime of hers, and just love her themes. The bee hive is so clever! And the linen is sweet. A great Friday funds post, Cecilia! Have a great weekend.

  6. Loved your blog today. Marjolean Bastein is one of my favorites and her items always catch my eye. I've collected many and also like to frame her calendar prints. Love the embroidery too and you can't ever have too much jadeite!

  7. I just LOVE bees...and teapots! Several years ago I lucked up and found two of the very cutest teapots for a little of nothing. Sadly that thrift store closed...I had withdrawal symptoms for quite awhile!

  8. You're so right--everyone's house should have a little whimsy--or even a lot at times. Love the greens and yellows together; it is such a springy color combo. I just finished a jug of peppermint iced tea; it was a great thirst quencher on a hot day! And I treated myself to a chocolate peppermint plant at Home Depot--now THAT makes great iced tea! Hard to beat a no-cal choc/peppermint treat!
