French Farmhouse Style: Friday's Find #188

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Yard sale season is here and oh, how I love a good yard sale! It was a rainy day and truth be told, if it wasn't for a prescheduled appointment, I probably would have stayed indoors but I'm so glad I was out and saw this sale! Today's features are French farmhouse style and all from the same yard sale...

French farmhouse yard sale finds

It was the perfect yard sale for a professed dishaholic like me and everything was priced to sell!  First, is this large round Federalist ironstone platter. I don't come across ironstone as often as other dishware, so I was happy to find it. It's over 12" in diameter and has the typical crazing which I don't mind a bit. It's such a versatile piece--I can see it used tray style for a charming vignette or on an easel displayed on its own.

Next, a mismatched pair of salt and pepper shakers that I'll repurpose soon.

This lovely piece is handmade with the artisan's name, Estil and the date, '57 hand marked on the bottom. I adore the ornate edging.

I love this delicate floral Limoges bowl and it's right at home in my collection.

Last, another pretty French piece, this one is Haviland.

Would you believe I only paid $4 for all of these gorgeous finds? I hope I've inspired you to scour yard sales for vintage collectibles. Check out the top things I hunt for at yard sales here.

  1. Oh pretty and cheap! Nice. Hm, I have a floral bowl similar to that one. I'll have to look at the mark on the bottom. Have a great weekend!

  3. Looks like you and I bought similar stuff this week. Being a self-described "dishaholic" can you tell me how the market for Buffalo China is? I acquired quite a bit of it this past weekend and I have no idea if it's worth trying to sell!

  7. It's still a bit nippy in the midwest for yard sales, but soon I hope! You know I love ironstone and I would have grabbed that plate! My mother's china was Haviland and I loved it (my older sister got it, oh well:)) Have a greatweekend! xo Kathleen Our Hopeful Home

  9. I just took my doggy to the vet and saw a yard sale sign but didn't think she would be a good shopper. So I had to pass it up. So the yard sale season is on here in GA too. Yea!

  12. Love the Limoges floral bowl. Glad you are getting out to garage sales. There were two sales sales on a street that I like to go to, but believe it or not, I just had to pass them by. Thanks for sharing your finds.
