Friday's Find #186

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends!  Ready for this week's fab features? My first find is an example of how I pair new items with vintage treasures.

Pairing new and vintage thrift store finds

I found this colorful coffee tin at Goodwill. It was missing the lid, but as you can see here, that's not a problem. I added some lavender asters and displayed it with a vintage tea towel and a little bird I already had--both previous thrift store finds. I guess you can tell I've got spring on my mind!

Now that I've upgraded my light fixtures, I seem to keep finding vintage metal shades, but it's kind of like the children's story Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Fortunately I had already found shades that were just right for my fixtures.  The previous one was too large, and this one is too small but I'm hoping they'll be a perfect fit for someone who needs them! Available

....terracotta block, and gazebo style candle holder are all keepers. Stay tuned to see these two featured in a project soon!

Last but not least, a charming Manchester Wood vintage mail rack. You can see the stamp below.  It's a great candidate for a mini makeover!

  5. I can't believe the purple asters are in bloom now ... well, the Mountain Laura are too. Way too early. Early Spring ???

You are such a good thrift shopper. Love your finds and anxious to see what you do with the mail rack. Really some nice pine wood in those "dated" pieces.
    Enjoy,
