Friendship Plus Fredericksburg Equals Fun!

Hi there, Friends! I've often said that one of the best perks of blogging is the sweet friendships formed. Today I'm sharing highlights from my visit with my dear friend Cecilia, blogger at The B farm

Fredericksburg, Texas

Cecilia arrived Tuesday and we spent the afternoon catching up. This was our third time to get together since meeting last fall. We share much in common and are always able to pick up right where we left off. Conversation ranged from her daughter's wedding plans to the upcoming presidential election to where we would go thrifting the following day and what we might find. We got an early start Wednesday and after a morning of shopping at several of my favorite haunts, worked up an appetite and stopped at Pint and Plow for lunch. Pizza has become a habit during our visits--this one was a veggie with garlic oil and oh-so-tasty!

We thrifted the afternoon away and Cecilia found some wonderful treasures to take home. That evening we dropped by to visit Audrey, another blogging buddy who has been under the weather. I know she would appreciate your prayers. Audrey's lovely home is warm and inviting.

On Thursday, our day began at Smitten, my favorite shop in Fredericksburg. The charming porch is always a delight to browse.

What could be cozier than a quilt covered wicker settee, and isn't the cement pig in the corner a cutie?

I always look forward to the seasonal styled mantel in the entry of the shop and it never disappoints!

So many lovelies to behold, but I loved this wintery vignette the most.

Next, just minutes away, we headed to lunch at another favorite, The Peach Tree. As we walked from the parking lot to the entrance, we were greeted by a profusion of colorful fall asters.

The tea room is always a treat and I've been going since my kids were little, so it holds a lot of fond memories. Several years ago, when Youngest Daughter and Ginger Grand still lived in town and my Mom was visiting, we enjoyed lunch here with four generations!

The menu features delicious salads, sandwiches, soups and quiche and the desserts are to die for! We left full and happy with decadent chocolate walnut cookies, called Mud Daubers to go.

After lunch, we stopped by a few antique malls before Cecilia needed to head home. We hugged and said our goodbyes until our next adventure. Remember to check out Cecilia's post on Monday and then drop back by to see the fabulous finds from our thrifting on Friday!
