Farmhouse Fabulous Vintage Basket Upcycle

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  Over the weekend I picked up a vintage basket at one of my favorite thrift stores.  I really love deep baskets for pretty storage especially those with lids, which are harder to come by. All it needed was a little love...

Here's a closer peek at how it looked when I brought it home. It was in really good condition, just dull and faded.  I decided to keep the existing pale red band near the bottom...

White spray paint always works wonders!

Once it dried, I got out some Yesteryear chalk paint I received from DecoArt. Isn't it a great color?

I received free product as a  DecoArt Blogger. See full disclosure here.

I added a gray band above the taped red sections--two thin coats.

What do you think? I love how the white and gray paint accentuate the red band.

  2. Wow, what a difference! Funny but the red band looks pink in the before picture. I really like the grey accent with the red. Nice basket and now it looks brand new!

  13. Such a fun and unique shape to that basket. I must admit, I don't refurbish a lot of things...so I hadn't thought how you could freshen up a basket! Nice tip!
