When the Glass Slipper Shatters: My First EBook

Hello Friends! You may remember I mentioned something special I wanted to share with you--I am launching my first eBook!  While I realize that most of you are not directly affected by divorce, many of you are close to someone who is or has been. It can be such a devastating time and my desire is to offer hope and encouragement.  Do you know someone who needs to know her fairy tale is not over?  {Available on Amazon ~ click on the book image!}

When the Glass Slipper Shatters: Recreate Your Fairy Tale After Divorce by Cecilia Lynne

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty sure most of us wouldn't describe our daily lives as fairy tales! Yet, there is something deep in the heart of every little girl that longs to be loved.  When she grows up and is abandoned, betrayed or abused by the man she married, the wounding seems unbearable. This is a journey I have traveled and while you probably know from reading my blog that I am single, I haven't shared specific details. This weekend marks the 6th anniversary of my printed book, "After...Happily Ever After: Finding Contentment as a Single Parent,"  Since that writing, I've lead support groups, taught Bible studies and mentored women whose lives were ravaged by divorce.  My story chronicles everything from learning to walk in forgiveness to how I homeschooled and built a new home as a single parent on a limited income.  Tips on helping your kids receive college scholarships and interviews with single moms from all walks of life are also included. Of course, there is a section about thrifting!

After...Happily Ever After

For some time, I've wanted to adapt my story as an eBook and finally, it is complete! Since the adaptation is also condensed, I decided to update the title and cover as well. This endeavor marks the beginning of a new season for me. While blogging and sales from my Etsy shops have supplemented, my main source of income has been as a home manager for a local lady for the last six years. She has compensated me generously for errands, light cleaning and home organization.  Soon, she will be moving away to be closer to family and thus, changes to come for me.  Interestingly, one of the topics in my book is the diverse ways I've earned income over the years! God has always provided. I have had the desire to be able to devote more time to writing and have plans for more eBooks in the near future. While Glass Slipper lays the foundation, future eBooks will focus on frugal living--more along the lines of my blog posts.  So there you have it! As always, I appreciate all of you so much and would love to hear your thoughts.  A special shout out to the single moms out there!

  7. I think this is wonderful that you are writing and giving a message of hope to the single women out there. I was divorced in 1989 when my boys were two and five years old. . .it was difficult at times, but rewarding also. My sons are still very close to me and I think it is because we had a stable life without their father in the picture. Which is sad, but it was better in the long run. And although I am long past needing it, I would like to read your book!
