Happy Monday, Friends! As promised, today I'm sharing highlights from brunch at the beautiful Stanley Hotel. It's quite a lovely place despite its creepy portrayal in the 1980 thriller based on the Stephen King book...
Dear Firstborn made reservations for Sunday brunch and it was a gorgeous day for the drive to Estes Park.
As you might imagine, the hotel that originally opened on July 4, 1909 featured charming accents in every nook and cranny, so of course, I took lots of photographs to share!
Take a peek at the fun menu inspired by The Shining.
These are the dishes that EL, Dear Firstborn and I ordered...
...and this was our view while we ate!
Even so, there were still lots of macabre nods to the movie.
The music room was particularly lovely. The piano displayed in the middle photo is outside the large, light-filled room.
In the daylight you would never dream a horror movie was filmed here, but I was so enamored with the place that I rewatched The Shining after I got back to Texas!
Check out this view! Remember the maze scene?
You can read more about my recent celebration in Colorado, here!
