Happy Monday, Friends! It's starting to feel like spring here, and I've been working on a few projects to refresh my outdoor space including a new welcome sign for my front entry. I'm posting it as a 15 minute fix, but this simple repurpose can be completed even quicker...
Before I go any further, I want to give a shout-out to Amber, at Follow the Yellow Brick Home for inspiring me! Did you see Amber's Rae-Dunn inspired feature at the Vintage Charm party a few weeks ago?
I'm no stranger to dollar store decals, nor is this the first time I've used one to create a plate sign.
I've also used them to to upcycle tacky thrift store signs...
...and create reverse canvas art.
However, Amber sparked a "Why didn't I think of that?" moment when she had the clever idea to use this decal with a Rae Dunn-like font to create different words. I've been on the lookout for the decal at my local Dollar Tree and finally found it this past week.
I decide to use a thrifted vintage platter to create repurposed welcome sign.
So...I took a few minutes to cut out the letters and rearrange them to add the southern greeting, "Hey Y'all!"
Cute idea! Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I didn't even know they sold decals. Will have to take my time and look, look, look, next time.
ReplyDeleteCute! I check out the Dollar Tree decals every time I go, hoping they have something else I want. I have the narrow Serenity Prayer on my archway--the "doorway" is just the right width for it!
