Friday's Find #169 Plus the Evolution of a Plate Gallery Wall

TGITF, Friends! Okay...you see the plates in the photo and are probably thinking: Seriously, MORE transferware? You may even be wondering what one person could possibly do with so many plates! Well today I'm going to show you exactly what I did with these lovelies I found during my shopping trip with Cecilia B, plus others from both recent and past fabulous finds...

...I've been adding to my collection and arranging and rearranging. I started my transferware collection two years ago, after gathering recent finds from the time.  Here's a peek of the small gallery wall I created featuring my pretty vintage plates, back then.

My vintage transferware collection in 2014

Since then, my affection for the vintage English china has grown fonder. In addition to the growing gallery wall, earlier this year I scored a set of Friendly Village at a yard sale.

Being the dishaholic that I am, I even gave my china cabinet a makeover to better showcase my new beauties!

Meanwhile, in addition to setting my table with them, I've continued to add to the gallery wall. It's funny, originally, I remember scouring every haunt to gather enough for a small plate collage. Now, they seem to find me! At the 100 mile yard sale,

and even home sweet home shopping with Cecilia. I'd forgotten to share these last week when I shared the rest of my finds from our adventure. I was excited to find them because my gallery wall already has a few of the smaller Johnson Brothers Garden Bouquet and I'd been hoping to add some more of the colorful pattern. Plus, they were half price!

Here's how my vintage transferware collage looks after two years of collecting. I'd say it's really blossomed ;)

  2. I love your collection on the wall and would like to do that, but all my husband would see is all the holes in the wall, not the wonderful collection.

  13. I WANT THIS WALL! It's gorgeous, Cecilia! I've been collecting plates for a gallery plate wall for years. I had planned on putting one up when we moved, but we never moved. I pinned it to my Hanging Plate Wall Pinterest Board! xo Kathleen Charm Bracelet Diva {At Home}

  16. Heck, I love them all but the Friendly Village are my favorites. Hadn't ever seen those, wish I'd come across some. So perfect for this time of year.Your gallery wall is awesome, love shape you put them all in on wall.
    Somehow my gallery walls get all wonky no matter how hard I try to keep them in some kind of pattern. Any wall space I have isn't very big and no dining area in our single wide.
    Hope you're having some lovely Fall weather.

  17. Beautiful! Love the gallery wall! I found 4 Friendly Village bread plates at a yard sale for .25/each last year. I sold them in my Etsy shop, but I was impressed with their pretty nostalgic theme. I can see why you're a "dishaholic"!
