Friday's Find #133

Thank God it's thrifty Friday, Friends! Time for the finds of the week and take a look at this one--I've never come across a vintage movie reel before.  It holds a certain industrial appeal and I can't wait to use it for a funky repurpose!

See how I used it here!

Though not vintage (dated 1998), these framed silhouette portraits take me back to my childhood. My mother had one of me and each of my brothers hanging in our hallway.

Ever since I featured Altered Artworks' fabulous Scrabble tile art at Vintage Charm Party 16, old clipboards have been on my thrifting radar.  Would you believe I found not one, but two for .25 each? See how I used them here.

Last, I found a yellow sugar bowl comparable to the Hazel Atlas creamers I found a few weeks ago.  I love the pastel Platonite...

  1. Hi Cecilia, what fun finds for you! I really like the silhoutte-3 in 1. Not sure I have ever seen one with 3 in it before.

  4. The vintage reel is so cool!! Great find...and I have that exact silhouette in that exact frame. Ours was done at Disney, in Frontier Town. I wonder if that one was too?

  6. Love the old galvanized looking clips on the boards. You will have fun with those. Anxious to see what funky thing you will do with the vintage movie reel. Sounds like you had fun at the 25¢ Sale.

  7. I love it all especially the reel and the silhouettes. I have a similar silhouette hanging in my studio. I have yet to find old reels, but I did get some plastic ones for a song that I had planned to spray paint to make them more realistic as vintage. I like yours way better! xo Kathleen
