Friday's Find #132

TGITF Friends! Here we go again...My name is Cecilia and I'm a dishaholic. Yep, this week's fabulous feature is more vintage dishes.  How could I pass on a gorgeous Johnson Brother's Friendly Village set just waiting for me at a recent yard sale? Not an antique shop-a yard sale! I was so excited to find this covered casserole...

Here's a view of the backstamp. They were manufactured in England beginning in 1953.

I've always wanted a set of this transferware pattern to use during the holidays and am thrilled to have found it especially at that price. Now I just have to rearrange my china cabinet--more on that Sunday!

  9. Cecilia ... my daughter collects and uses that same set and I was hoping to see you would have them "available" in your Etsy shop. But ... so glad you are keeping them to for yourself. Great find. Johnson Bros make beautiful china. I found her vintage set at Salvation Army years ago and her friends have added new pieces. Enjoy.

  13. I purchased for my daughter a sugar bowel and small oval platter at an antiques shop in Aurora. Or. The owner wanted $45.00 for the sugar bowel but she sold it for20.00 and the platter was 45.00 and sold it for 30.00, so both for 50.00 and I thought that was a deal, but you really scored a deal. That pattern of dishes is used on the Hallmark series "When Calls The Heart" and she loves the show and that is how she started collecting the dishes. You scored big at the yard sale. Cudos to you.
