Vintage Birdcage Refresh - Garden Glow Up Series

Happy Monday, Friends! Today I'm continuing my Garden Glow Up Series with the refresh of a vintage birdcage scored at a yard sale. If you also have some garden decor that has seen better days, I hope this post will serve as inspiration to reuse and recreate a piece without spending a penny

Although metal decor tends to weather our extreme Texas summers best, it still needs refreshing from time to time. Below is a quick before and after

TIP: Prior to painting, give your piece a good rinse with the garden hose, remove/sand any flaking paint, and allow it to dry in the sun.  Once it dries, apply two coats of the paint of your preference to your decor. Due to the ornate design of my birdcage, painting with a stiff brush worked best as I needed to reposition it a few times in between painting and drying. Your decor may be more suited to spray paint--whatever works best for you!
