Repurposed Garden Boots Planter in 3 Easy Steps

Happy Tuesday, Friends! It's time for this month's Creative Craft Blog Hop hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather! Today I'll show you a darling way to repurpose garden boots that have seen better days. You can even do this project with mismatched or a single boot

If you hopped over after visiting Gail from Purple Hues and Me, welcome! Wasn't her candleholder lovely? Last month, I shared how I sanitize any secondhand footwear I purchase after I replaced my old garden boots with this like-new pair I scored at a yard sale for $2.

Now, I know many of you are aware of the transformative power of a little paint when it comes to recreating grungy or worn out items. In this case, a .50 can of estate sale spray paint transformed my heavily worn garden boots--taking them from disgusting to darling in 3 easy steps--so basically, I scored new-to-me garden boots and a recreated planter for $2.50!

If you only have one boot, I've include a photo of a single boot displayed hanging on the fence--in fact, this project came out so cute, I plan to keep an eye out at yard sales and thrift store for different sized boots to recreate and hang along the fence! To make your own, simply follow these 3 easy steps which are also included in the collage below. 1. Clean the boot(s) to remove any surface dirt. 2. Spray paint thoroughly and make sure to cover the soles and just the top of the boot interior.  3. Allow to dry and add flowers!

  3. Oh my, Cecilia! Your repurposed boots really look brand new! It's amazing what a coat of paint can do. And you really took a chance using estate sale can paint that you got for 50 cents! No telling how the paint would be or how old. But it all worked out. Your garden boots planter is adorable and I love the flowers you chose, too!
