Texas Hill Country Summer Meadowscape Garden

Happy Monday, Friends! Today I am excited to join the Outdoor Summer Tours hosted by dear Cindy from County Road 407.  I'll show you how I embrace Mother Nature in my Texas Hill country garden style by cultivating a drought-tolerant meadowscape that encourages pollinators

If you've hopped over after visiting Missy from Sonata Home Design, isn't her front porch charming? Welcome to my garden--if you were  to drop by, we could visit here at the cozy sitting area just outside my backdoor that leads to the back garden gate.

In my garden, you won't find meticulously manicured lawns...

...instead, you'll see leaves gathered as mulch, lots of native plants and colorful wildflowers carpeting the ground to welcome pollinators!

With the exception of pesky grassburs--also known as stinging grass-- that I weed by hand, my philosophy is if it stays green during our scorching Texas summers, it is welcome in my garden!

Instead of mowing, I am a trimmer which allows me to enjoy fragrant honeysuckle blooms while preventing the vine from strangling other plants.

From the heavenly honeysuckle picnic I shared a few weeks ago to my relaxing boho swing tucked between trees, I love creating whimsical outdoor spaces that beckon you to slow down and sit awhile.

I scored this vintage headboard at a yard sale and repurposed it as a flowerbed trellis--stay tuned for the details in a few weeks.

Soon, vibrant morning glory like these should be blooming on the vine climbing the repurposed trellis!

The zinnia seeds I planted in spring are all blooming now.

Don't let these delicate beauties fool you--most of my roses are over 15 years old and they are so resilient!

Here's another view of my natural meadowscaped ground cover peeking through the greenery...

I scored this pair of vintage chaise lounges at a yard sale years ago.
