Happy Tuesday, Friends! Welcome to the Summer Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my sweet friend Rita from Panoply! It's always a pleasure to set a lovely table for guests but today I want to encourage you to treat yourself--follow me to the garden for an elegant summer breakfast for one

I'm so glad you've hopped over after visiting Ricki Jill from The Bookish Dilettante--wasn't her patriotic table charming? I love the serenity of a summer morning spent in the garden. Not only is it the coolest time of day, I am treated to a free birdsong concert daily. While most of us don't think twice about setting a charming table for family or guests, I must confess that I often nibble my breakfast standing by the backdoor window, making a mental to-do list before heading outdoors. Can you relate?

Inspired by these pink knockout roses in all their glory, I moved my bistro table right underneath them so I could literally Stop and smell the roses! In honor of our country's 250th birthday, I chose my vintage Liberty Blue dishes.

Crisp white table linens are layered with a vintage floral hankie and sprinkled with delicate rose petals. For breakfast: berries and bagels--find my homemade healthier recipe, here!

This sweet little birdie adds a touch of whimsy!

Liberty Blue...and pink roses too!

HEB's Sweet Karoline blackberries are the best! Get my iced mocha recipe, here!

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to treat yourself occasionally!

Next on the hop is Ann at Corner of Plaid and Paisley and I can't wait to see her pretty table setting! Then don't forget to scroll down to visit the rest of today's featured bloggers!

DeleteCecllia, what a beautiful spot to stop and smell the roses!! Such a charming table! I adore that photo of the birdie eyeing your goodies! Those blackberries look fabulous! Enjoy your summer!!☀️🌹💙
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ann! Have a wonderful summer!
DeleteI love your beautiful table for one. All of my tables are set for one, but it’s not often I treat myself as attractively as you have done here. I really love those blue dishes. I can’t believe how much blue I got rid of when I moved from my old house into this one. I’m kicking myself I can tell you. Enjoy your breakfast at your beautiful setting. Wish I could join you.
ReplyDeletePattie, You are welcome to join me anytime! Have a relaxing summer!
DeleteCecilia your table for one is so perfect under those beautiful pink roses. wow! They are lovely. I have to confess that I DO take the time to have a leisurely breakfast in my courtyard... especially if the Captain is flying. For one thing our weather is conducive to al fresco dining AND I'm a bit lazy and can't stand for any length of time or eat on the run. ...due in part to my past illness. When I cook, I have to do it in spurts...so I cook awhile and rest awhile etc. I love eating outside and you are right, the birds song is so refreshing and a wonderful way to begin the day. I also have my quiet time...so before I/we eat, I study my Bible and prepare for the day. I have those same vintage Liberty Blue dishes with different Patriotic scenes. Have a wonderful summer and take just a little more time to stop and smell your beautiful roses. 🌸🇺🇸💕
ReplyDeleteKari, I'm so glad to hear that you make a habit of enjoying a leisurely breakfast--I'm purposing to do it more often, too! Thanks for your thoughtful comments and I hope you have a lovely summer!
