Happy Tuesday, Friends! Welcome to the final Creative Craft Blog Hop of 2025 hosted by Sara from Birdz of a Feather! Today I am sharing the crocheted evergreen Christmas wreath I made for the holidays and since it is crafted with yarn, I will treasure it for years to come

If you hopped over after visiting Creatively Beth, I'm so glad you're here! Sometimes it can be challenging to visualize the finished project when I shop for yarn--can you relate? Recently, I found this pretty wool blend in variegated shades of green that seemed absolutely perfect for crafting an evergreen Christmas wreath and the end results were just as I envisioned! (TIP: Remember Hobby Lobby has 30% off sales on their yarn every other week!)

You can use any size/type of hoop. I happened to have this over-sized 14.5" embroidery hoop on hand and I used 4 skeins of yarn. The finished wreath is 19.5". Start by half double crocheting around the entire hoop.

Next, chain 12 and in the second stitch from the hook, single crochet, then chain 5 to make a loop. Skip a stitch and repeat until 2 stitches above the hoop. Then chain 9, and repeat the previous pattern to create individual branches. Last, alternate 12 and 9 stitch chain branches, repeating around the entire hoop. Optional: Embellish with a velvet bow.

This is so charming, and practical. It won't shed and never dies. Love the idea.
ReplyDeleteWow, Cecilia! Your crochet wreath is absolutely gorgeous! I admire anyone who can crochet. My MIL tried to teach me years ago but back then I think I was more interested in her son than learning how to crochet, lol!
