How to Style a Vintage Typewriter with Fresh Flowers

Happy Monday, Friends! I adore vintage typewriters and the touch of whimsy they add to decor--there are so many fun ways to style them! Personally, I love using fresh greenery and flowers but have you ever wondered how to keep them fresh? Today I'll show you my simple tip...

All you need is floral water tubes with stoppers like these!

For fall, I paired sunflowers and lamb's ear from the garden.

To protect the typewriter, take care that you don't overfill the water in the tubes and that you place them so that they are propped upright. The smaller tubes work best in my typewriter, but you can measure the space in yours in case you need a longer size.

To keep the flowers fresh, check the tubes occasionally to see if more water is needed. That's all there is to it!

  1. Too cute! Love the sunflowers for that pop of color. xo Kathleen

  2. Cute! I had to smile seeing that typewriter. My dad was a salesman and had to type his own invoices on a similar machine. As a Scoutmaster, he managed to slice the end of one finger off when showing the boys some cutting. That poor fingertip was sensitive for ages; you could hear him typing and cussing when he had to type with that finger! Us kids stayed WAY OUT of his way!

  3. Lovely. Years ago, I saw a vintage typewriter for $10 at a thrift shop and passed it up. What was I thinking??
